I'm guessing you guys were wondering why my previous entry included a question about gay marriage in the title.

This was mainly because I was curious to see how many people were for/against it.

I'm also curious about the reasoning behind their decision.

As you guys might have discerned through some of the photos I've posted re: gay marriage, I am most definitely for it. I don't even understand how gay marriage can be an issue anymore.

So as to provide a comprehensive argument, I'm dividing this into a list of reasons:

1) Whatever happened to the right to privacy? Banning homosexual marriage is similar to the government banning interracial marriage forty years ago. As the saying goes, "If you don't want gay marriage, don't get married to a gay person".

2) All those people who say that a union between two men or two women is "unnatural", there have been instances of animals in the wild being homosexual. There have been homosexual elephants, bears and dolphins, among many others.

3) Just because gay people have the right to have a civil union doesn't mean they shouldn't have the right to get married. Many people have dreams of getting married some day, so why should this right be denied to gay people? Imagine being told that you couldn't get married because of the person that you were in love with.

4) Gay people are not "contagious". This is a ridiculous argument, but apparently people still believe this is true.

5) There is a reason that there is separation between church and state. This should mean that there should be no religious arguments whatsoever against gay marriage. It is incredibly infuriating to hear people talking about how the Bible states that marriage is so-and-so when that should not even be an issue. Of course, I say this as an American citizen and with the knowledge that the same might not hold true in other countries (although even if it doesn't, it should :|).

Did I leave anything out?
